Buckwheat was not pleased that Jindal used his music for his WH run announcement and tweeted his displeasure calling Jindal's use of his music 'not cool'.
Buckwheat Zydeco to Gov. Bobby Jindal: Don't use my music
First Neil Young, now Buckwheat Zydeco and both are fans of Bernie Sanders:

Buckwheat Zydeco's camp said Gov. Bobby Jindal's use of his music "is not cool at all."
After Gambit reported the Jindal playlist (which also included songs by Wayne Toups and Zydecajun, Garth Brooks, Montgomery Gentry and the Zac Brown Band), Buckwheat Zydeco chided the Jindal campaign in a tweet, indicating that Buck's candidate of choice is Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, a registered independent who is challenging Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination.
Using our music is not cool at all #BobbyJindal, the musician tweeted. @SenSanders using our Make A Change to make his announcement is tres bien!
Jindal's Campaign Responded:
We licensed the music we played. But if Mr. Zydeco wants to be a good socialist like Bernie Sanders, he might need to rethink the idea of private property.
To which Zydeco's camp responded:
They can buy a song but can't buy our approval. It's not worth it. We are not a prop. http://bit.ly/1Gvx8Cu
All I can say is I hope they keep doing it. Look at all the free advertising they are giving to Bernie 'a good Socialist" they are so in the past.
Bernie is apparently a fan of Buckwheat also. This is the great song 'Make a Change' he used in his announcement for the WH race:

(62,325 posts)These idiots keep making mistakes like this. After their historic faux pas re Bruce Springstein you'd think they would check to see if the artist supports them.
However, this is all very beneficial to Bernie.

(62,325 posts)am trying to follow all of them, but I'm sure I am missing a whole lot. So there COULD be a musicians for Bernie account.
I might start a thread with all the accounts and keep adding as more start. That way people using twitter can all follow each other.
Supporting Bernie on twitter btw, is the quickest way to get followers. I think I got nearly 300 in the past couple of weeks since I started following Bernie supporters, most of them immediately follow you back.

(62,325 posts)a word that half the country would now vote for, I can imagine the looks of confusion on the faces of voters, especially YOUNG VOTERS of which 7 in 10 of say they would vote for a Socialist for President.
'WTF, is this guy for real'? Lol!

Very happy to see artists and cool cats coming out for Bernie. He's the candidate that inspires. More on the way.

(62,325 posts)caught up with the country OR Bernie yet. Leave them in the past, don't even tell them how lame it is in today's America to think that the word 'socialist' is the word everyone is wary of. It is the word 'capitalist' that young people fear the most, and rightly so considering what predatory capitalism has done to their future.
BrotherIvan
(9,126 posts)I had said the same on DU awhile ago: because the age skews much older here, the word "socialist" has an instant negative reaction. But for those of us who are younger, it really doesn't mean much. If you look at the detail of the NH recent poll, you will see that HRC's support is 50+ and Bernie is the younger group (with females it is below 40) so that shows that the label doesn't mean anything except to conservatives.
What I think Bernie has to change is he talks a lot about Europe and most people don't have any reference to that at all. He needs to keep talking about effective, popular US programs such as Medicare and Social Security and then more people will understand. People don't travel much, so they have no idea what he's talking about I think.

(62,325 posts)when she was complaining about 'liberal socialism' once. I asked her what we should do about it. She said the government shouldn't be giving people handouts.
So, I asked if she wanted the government to stop supporting the troops.
'What do you mean' she said. I said, well if you want the 'handouts' to stop, you don't want veterans to receive care. That is socialism.
How about SS? Do you know anyone on SS? She said she supported SS and she supported Veterans Benefits. I told her that I did also so. I pointed out that SS was more like a retirement Insurance program, not a handout at all.
In the end she was thoroughly confused. None of these facts were something she had thought about. Only listened to Faux and Rush.
She ended up saying that maybe she was wrong and would have to start doing her own research. She thanked me though, so she wasn't stupid, just badly informed. Maybe she became one of those 'socialists' herself after she got some facts.
The younger generation knows that European Countries with Socialist Govts are far superior to ours, in terms of education and Health Care especially.
I read recently that thousands of American students are now going to Europe for college to avoid the huge debt burden they would have to take on here in order to get an education.

He and my ex-wife share the same birthplace. I met him several times on our frequent visits to Louisiana.
I am not surprised in the least to find out he is a Sanders supporter!

(62,325 posts)to raise funds for Bernie's campaign?
It appears that Bernie is a fan of his also.
Neil Young is not a citizen though he is a legal resident. Would that prevent him from helping Bernie's campaign? Legal Residents are allowed to donate to politicians so I don't see where it would be a problem though.

(8,352 posts)Maybe I will drop him an email to that effect. Maybe if he is interested he can approach the Sanders campaign.

(62,325 posts)I love the way he dealt with that phony, Jindal. He didn't need to say he was for Bernie either, but he did.
He's on twitter so people can contact him there also.
