Crosspost: Debunking Hillary's Specious Winning the Popular Vote Claim

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=1948469

I think this is really important for all of us to get the word out. When Hillary and camp falsely claim that she has 3M more votes, it's a lie. They are not including the total amount of votes from the caucus states - of which Bernie has won the majority and of which, like WA state, he has won by large margins. So this whole "she's winning the popular vote" is a load of crap. And even if she is, it isn't by much! This is just another way for her camp and the the Democrats to try and get him to drop out.

I posted it on twitter and will probably do the same on FB.

by experts in previous elections. Only takes 60 seconds to flip votes after they have been processed. Bernie won the nomination but it was stolen from him. MO

false thinking wherever it occurs, and it certainly occurs a lot.

Items like "smaller government is better", "government can't be counted on to do anything right", "no taxes", and things like "Bernie is a Socialist", "Bernie is less experienced and less electable", "Bernie is promising pie in the sky things", or "the nomination process is wrapped up" - all these are varying degrees of commonly held but inherently false ideas.

So it is with the popular vote count, as you aptly point out. Thanks for that.

I never thought that they wouldn't include the popular votes from the caucus states.

If so, why couldn't someone go state by state and figure out the percentages of people that voted for Bernie?

Have caucus goers never been included in popular vote totals? Or is that just new special math for the queen's 👑 2016 election?

Lol... But the fact that they aren't included while her camp is going around touting this 3M number seems like they are again distorting the truth.

I wish someone who loooooves math & stats could work up those numbers...just to shut the queen's 👑 pie hole. It would be so satisfying to tell her she's not really ahead in the popular vote.

and Republicans in the closed primary states. How much of that 3 million is just from name recognition, especially in the early states. And finally how much of that 3 million is in solidly red states that she will lose in the GE. Shit, she got over 400K more votes in Texas alone! Unfortunately, it's all about the ELECTORAL COLLEGE.

Alabama . + 230K
Arkansas + 80K
Georgia + 330K
Louisiana + 150K
Mississippi + 145K
South Carolina + 175K
Tennessee +125K
Texas +460K

Yes, Bernie won't be able to win these states either, but if they are going to wave their arms and say THREE MILLION MORE VOTES, I'm going to wave right back and say AND HALF OF THEM DON'T MATTER.

And that is not to say that the voters in those states don't matter. Of course they matter. But as a life long Texan, I realize I have already cast the one vote for Bernie that matters. I can vote for anyone I want in the GE - it won't make any difference. That's not a diss, that's MATH!
