Nancy -
We made a bit of history last night in Madison, Wisconsin.
Ten thousand people showed up at an event of ours thats more people who have come together for a presidential campaign event than any other candidate has had in 2015.
This is important.
Its important because despite what the media would have you think, politics is not a game or a soap opera. Politics is ultimately about people coming together to improve the lives of all Americans, and not just a handful of wealthy campaign contributors.
And on July 29th, I am asking Americans from across the country to come together for a series of conversations about how we can organize an unprecedented grassroots movement that takes on the greed of Wall Street and the billionaire class.
Add your name and let me know if youre interested in hosting or attending an organizing meeting for our campaign on July 29th, and well be in touch with more information early next week.
The truth is that the big money interests, Wall Street, and corporate America have so much power that no president, no matter how great he or she may be, can defeat them unless there is an organized grassroots movement.
They have the money, but we have the people. And if we stand together, theres nothing we cannot accomplish.
We can provide healthcare to every man, woman, and child as a right.
We can make certain that every person can get all the education they need regardless of income

We can create millions of jobs by rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges.
We can have the best child care system in the world.
But change will not come without political participation. That's why it's so important that we come together in our communities to organize for the change we want to see in America.

I am more than aware that our opponents will be able to outspend us.
But we are going to win this election.

(14,177 posts)His speech last night was the best speech I have ever heard a politician deliver. I tried and failed to confirm that he writes his own speeches, but I believe he does, I know early on he did for sure, I don't know about now for sure. In any case I believe he connects with people in a way no other candidate is going to be able to do, because he speaks the truth.

(1,186 posts)And from what I saw and heard, I'm ready to run through a brick wall for this man. Very energetic and diverse crowd. I'm a people watcher and I noticed a lot of young people with their texting and their twittering and redditing. Ìt was very encouraging seeing the young people engaged and spreading the Bern. I think Hillary is in for a big surprise come election day. One can hope can't he?
Go Bernie!

(5,400 posts)It's like this "long shot candidacy" keeps shaping up, and operating from more solid ground, while other campaigns fade from relevance into the realm of the ephemeral, at a remote disconnect from the reality of the lives of voters in the primaries, and the general election.
These surrogates that attack the fundamentals, and supporters, of the Sanders campaign, they're coming across like poorly drawn caricatures of themselves/generic characters in a pot boiler novel. Thrown in to move the plot along, and then discarded. And from here on it will be downhill for them, their price tags will be showing. Imo, that is.
