VADO, New Mexico -
Secret Service agents are coordinating with the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office, Las Cruces Police, New Mexico State Police, and El Paso Police ahead of Democratic Presidential hopeful, Bernie Sander's, visit to Vado. (saturday)
The Secret Service is expecting nearly 4,000 people to show up. Staff at Vado Elementary told ABC-7 they were told by their school district supervisors 10,000 visitors are expected at the rally.
Although the Secret Service could not provide specifics of its security plan, it said there will be "air assistance and metal detectors" for the rally.
Agents said visitors will start going through the metal detectors at 9 a.m. And "it will be a slow process."
Plan accordingly. There is little to no shade at the school and the nearest restaurants and gasoline stations are blocks away from the school.
