Abolish superD's!

(142 posts)Every last one of our superdelegates has pledged to vote for Hillary at the convention (including Jim McDermott of all people!) despite the state voting overwhelmingly for Bernie. And they wonder why we're fed up with the system.

(12,471 posts)Get someone to primary him if he doesn't vote for Bernie. I know it's what the teabagger party did, but if it worked for them, it can work for us too.

Tell them you want to make sure abolishing superD's is a resolution. Then talk with your Senate and Congressional District Bernie Chair delegate(s). They are the ones moving the resolutions.
At least this is how it works in my State. Let us know how it goes.

If I recall you are out west?

(27,247 posts)First of all, it won't affect the convention for this year. This is the first primary since the superdelegate system was introduced in which there are two distinctly different candidates going into the home stretch of the primary. This measure won't take effect until 2020, and if Hillary is running for re-election, the point will be moot since no one will be allowed to primary her. And in 2024, if we make it that far, we will get back to the pre-2016 Tweedledum versus Tweedledee routine.

(6,344 posts)regardless of when you have calculated it going into effect. Making that change is affecting us all now, regardless.
