Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumSanders angers Democrats with Trump debate ploy 'It's bullshit,' says one Democratic senator.
Bullshit, said Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia. That confirms what weve been saying. Why would you expect Bernie should be considerate or be nice or be working to bring everyone together? Why? Hes not a Democrat.
The partys frustrations are boiling over with Sanders as the primary season winds down: Namely that Sanders seems unwilling or unable to admit that Hillary Clinton is on course for the nomination. The ire toward Sanders began earlier this year among the loudest Democratic cheerleaders for Clinton and now its seeping into nearly the entire Senate Democratic caucus.

As far as I'm concerned they brought this on themselves! As we all know the DNC has been horrible to Bernie along with MSM (of course)

(46,331 posts)That's myopic.
The potential for Bernie to weaken, if not decommission, Trump is a good thing.
Joseph Welch stopped Joe McCarthy in his tracks with one simple rhetorical sentence, "Senator, at long last, have you no decency?". McCarthy didn't see it coming, didn't realize its impact. And he was gone quickly.
Bernie is not one of the feckless republican primary candidates. Trust me, Trump can't outshout his way to win this debate.
Alternatively, even HRC gets the nomination, there will be a debate model for her to use (Trump against a democrat).

(41,600 posts)Voter Suppression, Flipped voter registrations and Evoting Machine reprogramming - Debates scheduled by DWS to help Clinton, Bernie's DNC data files blocked by DWS, Hillary Victory fund money laundered through the DNC, Bernie's Nevada delegates stolen by the State Dem party, Barbara Boxer flipping off Nevada Bernie supporters, Clinton reneging on her promise to debate in California - and they DARE to have the nerve to be angry at Bernie for playing better chess than they do? Check Mate aholes!
Besides that, The Queen 👑 isn't going to survive her latest scandal. She WILL BE INDICTED. Doesn't Manchin watch the news?
The Dem Party is IMPLODING and Bernie WILL BE the nominee.

(7,306 posts)I was in total agreement that Sen Sanders should forget about the Trump debate but now that it's pissing off entrenched Democrats that have been supporting the 1% I'm not so sure!
I do think that having Sen Sanders debate Trump, Sen Sanders can "shield" Sec Clinton from further damage and the mud flinging that Trump will employ. Sen Sanders can make the Democratic case that Trump is NOT the answer to our problems (Yes! Problems. Not "issues" or "Opportunities" but Problems!) while the Democratic party is. In other words, he can become the point man for the party in the GE.
I also think there's very little upside for Sen Sanders in this which makes me think he knows what he's doing. He may already be thinking in these terms. I can't really see any other GOOD reason for Sen Sanders doing this.
Thoughts?

(4,280 posts)This is getting very interesting. So, some Dems are expressing anger over a potential debate between The Donald and Bernie? What on earth are they afraid of? Oh, never mind.
