Yes, trauma often comes with at least one blessing, if one can see it.

If the Sanders Group hosts have a problem with your OP. feel free to post in the Populist Group.

Your stories about your son are fantastic, too.

I love picking him up from day camp because now every day, all the counselors high-five me and say "Feel the Bern!"

He talks to everyone he knows about Bernie Sanders. He can't wait to start going door-to-door with me.

I'm glad that you lived to tell it, and to go on to raise such a SMART young man... (Hey, he is a Bernie supporter, after all ... and at such a young age too! You've obviously raised him well, and ought to be very proud of him!

I'm also pleased that loungers back then were able to offer some comfort to you after such a devastating experience.

You know, after 4 years here on DU, I'm only now getting to know your friends in this group, thanks to Bernie's candidacy. I must confess that I had been one of those 'pragmatic' type Dems when I first joined, but gradually began to see 'the light' so-to-speak.

They are indeed good people, so it comes as no surprise that they were there for you when you needed them.

I'm sorry about the mobility issues, but thankful that you are still here with us.

...and I have developed a degenerative nerve disease which might be related to the spinal injury, but it's being viewed as idiosyncratic.

I remember when I was in a wheelchair, and I just kept thinking, if I want to walk, i have to walk. I recovered much faster than doctors anticipated, but I hit a plateau.

Getting pregnant while still healing pelvic and spinal fractures probably was a complicating factor, but well worth it!

Glad you're with us on the Bernie team!
