Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forum8 people showed up for my organizing meeting
We had about 15 rsvp, but only 8 showed up. Those that did not come ended up going to a meeting that was much closer to them.
How was your meeting?

(21,598 posts)I am so glad you had a great event.
Wasn't Bernie awesome? He is direct and to the point. He has a great message. I am so excited to be working on the campaign with my fellow Sanders supporters.
Feel the Bern!

(21,838 posts)about 3 miles from my home (Westchester County, NY). Made a couple of very interesting contacts not just for Bernie's campaign but for local elections as well.

(14,691 posts)there were numerous mtgs (I'm in NYC) but the one closest to me as the crow flies was not the most convenient location. Although 4 bus lines stopped near there, none of them were good for me. It looked like a 10 min drive on Google Maps but I don't have a car. I hope more people showed up there because only 3 were rsvp'd. Where I ended up was closer to transportation that I usually take, and at capacity with 18 people. That host had originally 15 max expected but a few dropped out. He opened it up for a total of 18 and I got in late today. Glad I went- most were college age guys. I was probably old enough to be their grandmother LOL. I'm introverted and the thought of being in a room with strangers is daunting to say the least. We are all involved in a common cause. and that helps. Nice spread of food n drinks and nice people -and we all texted WORK to 82623.

(18,791 posts)The campaign is going to send out forms to fill out, asking if you would lead or help with multiple different jobs.
I think.
Check your texts or email tomorrow.

(3,498 posts)I was surprised and impressed with the folks in attendence.
They slated for 40, and ended with 50!
We had a wide rage of people.
College students to retirees, and lots in between.
There is SO much opportunity.
The best part is how down to earth it was.
This IS a PEOPLES REVOLUTION!!!
We set up a network plan, exchanged contact info,
had democratic precinct leaders and shared relevant
local political knowledge.
Bernies campaign is DIY!
Bring your skill set and get ready to lead or follow!
But make sure you participate.
This is NOT a corporate fireworks, DisneyWorld slick
polished advertising campaign, it's REAL LIFE.
Join the Revolution!

(4,879 posts)Every event within 50 miles of me was full and would not except my rsvp.
I had considered hosting an event myself, but I am recovering from a mild heart attack and my family forbid such a venture.
Your efforts are appreciated. Are people fired up?

(9,497 posts)We had about 20, about half women and half men. Ranging in ages from 20s to 75. We got badges, bumper stickers and we exchanged emails to gather together. We are all going to joing the Seattle for Bernie Sanders because through that we can break off into districts and get going on our local elections, too. We are all going to caucus and gave information about how to register.
Funny thing, I drove on to Issaquah and stopped to pick up some goods from Trader Joe's. I still had on my Bernie button and the young male cashier said "Oh good! You are a Bernie supporter." I gave him a bumper sticker and he was really happy! It was fun!

(130 posts)there were 20-some-odd other events within a 50 mile radius, most were capacity crowds to my knowledge.
About half of the 80 there filled out work slips or texted ''work". Our host did an excellent job and it was a very enthusiast crowd - ranged from UNR students to retirees like us - a good cross section.
