Brunch with Bernie

Thom Hartmann turns over the first hour of his radio show to Bernie every Friday, usually, to discuss current events and what is going on in the Senate. Sometimes it's on other days, but usually on Friday at Noon ET. They call it "Brunch With Bernie". If you can't get the programming on the radio, it is on Sirius, and you can stream online at:

https://www.freespeech.org/

I like it because it is intimate, two friends talking, and gives you an insight into Bernie's mind. I have been listening for years. I hope they continue to do this show through the campaign and I'm sure Bernie and Thom will address issues on the campaign trail as they come up on the radio program. So even if the MSM does their best to diss or ignore Bernie, you can still hear what he has to say on this show.

If there is an online
archive that would be
a great resource for the group!

11. I have a number of years of Thom Hartmann shows archived on my PVR and on DVD+R...

I haven't had time to burn them off on to DVD+R recently as I used to, but ultimately I'd like to get them all archived on to DVD so that we have some place we can always have as a reference for later in case we lose them online at some point. I've found that some of them seem to not be available online any more too.

If someone needs a particular date for a show of his and Thom's, let me know, and I'll try to burn a copy of it if it's important for us building a campaign for him.

Sounds like a great resource.
If your library is "cataloged"
it would be an even more powerful
info archive!

Good stuff

16. I basically have them in dvds now organized by date..

All that are recorded are chapterized now in DVD+R format, but lately I've not had time to record those on to DVD since 2012 right before the election. I have Hartmann's RT shows more caught up now, only being a little over a month behind of burning them on to DVD. I would like to get them all on to DVD at some point so I'm not dependent on continuing having access to my Dish Network PVR that needs to have a subscription to keep them accessable. Someone PM me, especially if they have something like a LiteOn DVD recorder themselves which are hard to come by these days. Perhaps we can divvy up some workload to build this library more, and perhaps come up with a way of providing some way to provide an external database that would have data like guests on the shows, etc. that at some point could be put on a web site too. I already started to do that with Laura Flanders shows, which I have an archive of from when she had a Free Speech TV show back in the day, but doing that work also took a lot of time too. I could perhaps burn copies of the DVDs I have for someone else to do some post-facto database building on the topics, etc. so we could split the workload in a way. Then we'd also have copies in two different locations too to protect them from loss in case of a fire, etc.

Also have archives of Ring of Fire shows on FSTV as well as a number of the Current TV series that were on before they shut down.

Obviously an online Hub
would be most useful.

But due to copyright issues
a vine or tree may be more
appropriate

Thanks again, I have really missed listening to the Thom Hartmann program, and Brunch with Bernie.

I already posted about tomorrow's "Brunch With Bernie", but it's good to see others doing so as well...it'll mean more DUers will know that Bernie is on Thom's show every week.

12. I'm wondering if Bernie will appear on Thom's RT nightly show at some point...
Thu Apr 30, 2015, 06:56 PM

... which to date he hasn't that I recall.

But if he had or if he does, it will probably fuel the right making it out to be some kind of Russian communist plot (given that this show is on RT) since he's a known "socialist". I also have pretty much all of Thom's RT shows recorded too if they are needed.

He will be labeled a commie no matter what.

You are right that he'll probably be labeled a commie no matter what, but the right would figure out how to use an appearance on Thom's RT show to fuel that fire no doubt. Fortunately, I don't think that's happened, and I'm guessing Thom will avoid that happening in 2016 before the election too.
