PoliticoTwo-thirds of Obama-Trump voters say they see Trump favorably heading into his reelection campaign but that number has fallen by 19 percentage points since 2016, according to a new survey by the Voter Study Group.
Obama-Trump voters tend to be disproportionately located in the Midwest, and they likely helped Trump eke out victories in the key states of Michigan and Wisconsin. Trump was the first GOP nominee to win those states since the 1980s along with Pennsylvania, a state outside the Midwest but with sone similar demographics.
Trump won those three states by just a handful of votes 10,704 in Michigan, 22,748 in Wisconsin, and 44,292 in Pennsylvania. The slightest erosion in support could cost him those states in 2020.

(9,897 posts)Its one thing for a GOP voter to be party line loyal - after all, its their thing on that side, they toe the line religiously - but for voters who pulled from Obama and then 4 years later for Trump, they represent the kind of hideous slime that make me physically ill...

(58,785 posts)in part due to their return, and I'm grateful for that since each of their votes counts as much as mine. I'd prefer not to have dinner with any and have to listen to their justifications, but I have a strong stomach and would if it added that +1 to our count and subtracted it from the Republicans'.
As for those who still may, hopefully they'll eventually just tie a knot and move on back. (For as long as they stay, and it'd be nice if they didn't call themselves Democrats while badmouthing us.)
Some never will, of course.
IT'S THE VOTE.

(4,187 posts)Their sexism gave us, and them, Trump. I hope theyre pleased with themselves. After all, it could have been much worse: they could have had a woman leading their country!
I agree with you. I am not going to give these sexist jerks a moment of consideration. There are many other groups out there worthy of consideration, like children in cages, Hispanic people, Black people, Muslims and Jews dealing with bigotry every day, women being forced to give birth against their will ....
