Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumTrump raised 47 million.. and while that may sound impressive at first
If you add up the numbers on just our top 4, we are swamping the republicans. Not my original observation.. heard it on tv a couple of hours ago.. now does that not perk your day up!!

(673 posts)Its been pretty clear that the Democratic field is out raising Trump for a while.
Also pointless to worry about. Trump and whatever Democrat will have as much money as they need, regardless of what that number is.

Some have tried to tout his fundraiser numbers as proof that he's well ahead of the field. The fact is that really he's just about where a sitting President without a primary challenge should be.
Again though, money doesn't matter in the Presidential race. If it comes down to the point where money is actually a factor something else has gone catastrophically wrong to cause it.

(14,906 posts)That at least 30 million of that will find it's way directly into trumps pockets.
So it won't be spent on campaign needs. But he may not need much anyway.
During the last election cycle, the media gave him tens of millions of dollars in free publicity. They took every call and played it preemptively on every show. They stood around for hours - live - waiting for his rallies to start which they carried throughout, and then stuck around and asked the audience stupid questions.
Virtually every paper had some quote of his on the front page every day.
They are used to free air time, and don't spend much you can see in the way of voter drives or staffing. They count on suppression and hacking.
And just like in the inauguration, hundreds of millions will just go missing. It will go to "media" companies, and "consultants", and other nebulous entities, but eventually most will get back to trump inc.
If muehler had just followed the money, this would be over, but he had orders not to go there, and he obeyed.

(6,448 posts)I even mute the ads for the ones I'm voting for.
Most ads don't say what they're going to do. They say why you shouldn't vote for the opponent. And if the WH and Congress is won by opposing parties, nothing will get done anyway. Obama succeeded in spite of Boehner/McConnell, but he would have done so much more.
