Biden was chair of the foreign relations committee in the senate, working to contain both the Republican/Bush's oil- and religion-based enmity against Iran and Iran's religious and military imperialism. He worked extensively under Obama on ME policy.

(Doubt most remember that Bernie Sanders voted against sanctions on Iran twice, one of two senators out of 100 to do so, the other Rand Paul. After all, Sanders wouldn't be mentioning it.)

Please remember that Sen. Biden was the CHAIRMAN of the senate foreign relations committee. If the chair had voted against his own committee's sanctions bills, believe me it would have been big news.

What you should hope for is that Sanders will do a far better job of explaining why he voted against, and/or skipped the vote on, sanctions against both Iran and Russia after egregious actions by both. The explanations he gave every time are weak at best, and someone should try pouring water in them to see what happens.

Sanctions, though, just raise a few of many unanswered questions about Sanders' very under-scrutinized behaviors. Such as his proposal to eliminate NATO and create a new alliance that included Russia (!), which both Trump and Putin support and would empower and advance Russia's goals. This as Russia is forcing European nations to re-arm against Russian aggression.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
