If I was a Bernie supporter, I wouldn't bring up what's on the resume of someone under forty. Or photo ops.

So Pete deciding to go into public service and join the military instead of going after glamorous high salary consulting jobs and getting rich working for evil corporations is bad? In Opposite World it is!

Someone joining the military because of patriotism is evidently an alien concept to these people, although they should remember that's exactly what their hero Edward Snowden did. Now they're saying Pete's complicit in these "colonial wars," like a war crime.

Pete Buttigieg: Some say you are a combat veteran if you have a Combat Action Ribbon (I do not). Others say deploying to a combat zone makes you one. I simply consider myself a veteran, and I'll leave it to others to decide what else to call it.

https://taskandpurpose.com/pete-buttigieg-interview

He is careful not to call himself a combat veteran even as he notes the danger he faced. One of his former competitors for the Democratic nomination, Rep. Seth Moulton of Massachusetts, has drawn a sharp contrast between his four combat tours in Iraq and Buttigieg’s service. And a former commanding officer, who said he thinks Buttigieg would be within his rights to say he is a combat veteran, nonetheless questions the use of a rifle in his ads.

https://www.military.com/daily-news/2019/11/18/buttigieg-touts-military-service-wary-overstating-role.html

and everyone advancing this line of attack should be ashamed of themselves. It's simply despicable.
