I have listened to their speeches, watch their videos and researched their policies. I don't think that they are the right choice for different reasons. However, if any of them are the nominee, I will throw myself into campaigning and supporting them. I'm still undecided because I'm torn between a few great candidates at the moment. Of course, by the time I get to vote in the primary in my state, the number of people running will probably be significantly reduced.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

ETA - I have 8 I won't vote for in the Primary.

(8,445 posts)I've got to believe what I'm saying. That said, I'd possibly campaign AGAINST -45.

(3,275 posts)I would also work very hard to get more seats in the house and turn the senate blue. I honestly don't think any of the six I don't like will get the nomination.

(68,735 posts)argue with voters...true for phone banking also...Have you ever worked a campaign? And there are plenty of things you could do to help the campaign that don't involve going out...putting stuff in the computer, organizing those who do go out, printing and filing, feeding volunteers, working early voting, giving people rides to the polls...tons of stuff anyone can do. I guess the question I have, is do you hate the idea of Trump winning more than you dislike whatever candidate you dislike?... because I sure as hell hate the idea of Trump winning period.

(8,445 posts)Trust me, you and I are on the same team.
I don't memorize. Before I go door to door I do a lot of studying. I educate myself so that I can answer questions and know what I'm talking about. I put a whole lot of time and a whole lot of thought into what I'm doing when I'm campaigning.
What I probably should have said in my post was that I generally try to stay on a positive note. I despise -45 with every fiber of my being, but the fact of the matter is that I may come across some Democrats who actually support him. I know there are some because I just divorced one last year. If I can have a conversation with someone in which I build up our Democrat rather than go negative about -45, then that's what I will try to do.
I put "Undecided" for a couple of reasons. One is because our posts tend to get judged by which candidate we favor, and the other is because there are several candidates that I fully support. Then, of course, there are a couple I am not on board with, but I WILL vote for whoever gets the nomination.
And I'll definitely be loud about GOTV. Now more than ever before.

(68,735 posts)We were not allowed during the Obama campaign to say negative things about Bush and later Romney...I was out in rural Ohio...I had been living in Wisconsin for a year as hubs was transferred and came back to Ohio...boy was that tough...some of the lists were not updated and had confederate flags flying, I refused to go in those. I had one guy pray for me...such a sinner...and one guy threaten to sick his dog on me...but we persevered and Ohio went blue for two elections...I think we can do it again...particularly if Biden is the nominee. He is well liked here and spent a considerable amount of time here during 08 and 12...but I will work hard for any candidate. Trump is not well liked here. He has hurt the farmers and Lordstown GM is a sore spot too...and we may lose Parma GM as well. So we have a shot.

(8,445 posts)Maybe they were like my ex-husband. He's still registered as a Democrat, but he voted for -45 and is glued to FauxNews. I don't know what the hell happened to his brain that he would change so much.
I've had to fight the temptation to change his registration. Mostly because it's illegal, of course.

(68,735 posts)divorced by 21. Ours was a very bad but brief marriage...we were violent and I thank God my daughter was too young to remember much. Our daughter is grown now...he is undoubtedly a Trump supporter. He was racist , sexist and homophobic. It is a form of brain damage I think....on the bright side, I married a great guy and we have three kids...he is my soulmate and even more liberal than me...he accused me of being establishment the other night and came damn close to sleeping in the guest room!

(31,970 posts)We've flipped our heart of NJ 'Red Country' county seat Blue, we have to D Assembly Members, Phil is our Governor, and an Malinowski is our rep.
While the rest of the country has been knitting hats, wringing hands - hell even the state -
Hunterdon Country Democratic Party members have been working tirelessly to make it Royal blue.
Truthfully - those folks out in places like Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, and PA who have not been killing themselves to get EVERYTHING local and state the past few years?
Ya know what?
Let THEM do the heaving lifting. I've been giving three/five nights and or/weekend days to the Democratic Party Cause since early January 2017.
I'm fucking tired.
Someone else needs to lift some weight around here.

(68,735 posts)so they have been working hard. I would check out the midterms and the most recent elections before making such a statement. In any case, good job on promoting Democrats... hmm...fucking tired, well so am I;but I will do my best to remove asshat Trump this year and not suggest that I have done more than enough when Trump is still in office. The knitting hats thing is interesting, I assume that is a disparaging remark towards the women's march in 17? Well,I went and my girls went...we found it uplifting and prepared us to fight Trump. Get some rest...have a good day.

(31,970 posts)The day of the Women's March? Was the first Indivisible Meeting I organized.
Your girls better step on and go to college to register people as I did in 2018.
Go to the country fair as I've done for three years.
Knock on doors for Council and Mayoral Candidates
Make calls.
Donate and hold fund raisers locally to a grand total of 18K out of my own pocket.
Earn and give $500 EACH to Biden, Castro, Kamala, Amy, Booker, and Buttigieg.
Get back to me when you had foot reconstruction surgery and were going out daily with a boot and a knee bike to knock one doors and flip a district that had been Red for 40 years to Blue. Or when the child separation started - get up with a bullhorn in said boot, in 90 degree whether and organize that.
Good luck questioning my Bonafides.
