Brother Bernie and Brother Trump are authentic human beings in stark contrast to their donor-driven opponents.

(51,745 posts)What West was referring to was honesty, not whether he was an actual human being. Why else would he single out two candidates as "authentic human beings," when they are all human being beings?
West was dead wrong. Hopefully he's learned a few things since then.

(5,969 posts)and make-belief. West is such an effing idiot in his attempt to prop up Bernie and shit on the actual Dems in the race.
What's authentic about lying probably more than all his predecessors combined. The so-called locker room talk, the pussy-grabbing and molesting is the true, authentic Trump and maybe that is what Cornel West likes. Trump being a racist is also his true self but not something to be proud about. Everything else about Trump screams phony.

(17,390 posts)Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, Ta-Nehisi Coates, in his later years, Cornel West is most well known for jealously attacking other African American leaders. The height of his hypocrisy was when he attended a so-called gathering on social justice issues hosted by Bernie Sanders.
However, it became clear that rather than focusing on social justice, the gathering excluded grass roots leader's in Bernie's state and featured celebrities who have long been associated with Bernie. It was a nice elitist event that ignored the people on the ground who fought for social justice.
At this stage of his career, rather than fight for social justice, Cornel starts petty disputes with folks who do not adequately kowtow to him.

As Bernie Sanders seeks to broaden his national appeal among the black and Latino voters who would be critical to his success in a 2020 presidential campaign, the white senator from Vermont is struggling to improve a complicated relationship with racial justice leaders in his own backyard.
In an open letter to Sanders and an institute that now bears his name, more than a dozen racial and social justice advocates from across the state write that theyve been excluded from the national progressive movement that Senator Bernie Sanders is trying to foster.
The flashpoint for this latest conflict between Sanders and prominent Vermonters of color came last week, when the Sanders Institute hosted a three-day gathering in Burlington that convened progressive luminaries from around the world.
Notably absent from the event, according to signatories of the open letter to Sanders, were the racial justice leaders from Vermont who have been working for decades on the civil rights issues the event sought to address.
