Laurence Tribe proposes Rep Val Demings as possible VP.

Laurence Tribe

@tribelaw
.@RepValDemings was terrific during the impeachment hearings. Up from poverty; ex-Police Chief; degree in criminology; mother of 3; long marriage to mayor of Orange County, FLA; woman of color from a swing state: Easy to imagine her as the VP pick for the Democratic nominee . . .

Rep. Val Demings

@RepValDemings
I am a descendant of slaves, who knew that they would not make it, but dreamed and prayed that one day I would make it.

So despite America's complicated history, my faith is in the Constitution.

I've enforced the laws, and now I write the laws. Nobody is above the law.

However, for me, my preferences for VP might go more like Senator Harris, Stacey Abrams, Val Demmings. I just think Senator Harris would be killer, although I am sure that they would all do a fantastic job.

2. I LOVE Senator Harris -- but her vote might be essential to a possible Senate majority.

And Stacey Abrams is great, but she hasn't had the national experience Demings has had.

Obama knew she could defeat Brown so Harry Reid asked her to run.

Anyway, if Senator Harris or Stacey Abrams aren't game, I say go for Val!

One of the reasons I would love to see Senator Harris be VP is that she would be perfectly positioned to run for President in 2028 after 8 years of someone like Biden.

Second, I think women's hearts all across the country were broken when Kamala dropped out, and I think we might be able to heal a lot of those broken hearts if Kamala becomes VP.

Third, she wasn't just a lawyer, and she wasn't just a prosector, she was Attorney General for the giant state of California. Now, Republicans have been doing some serious lawbreaking lately. I want our team to have as much legal firepower in the White House as possible. Senator Harris can bring the big artillery, especially after how we have to clean up with William Barr, Trump, and his cronies. We need more people following the law.
