It is built off the back of his historical issues in this area. No matter what happens from here on out the damage is done. It can't be rolled back. That said, the damage is about to get a lot worse. Don't think the other candidates don't see that Sanders and his campaign are injured. The sharks smell blood and will be levying their own attacks.

It's a blood sport, folks.

Both can be characterized as out of touch re: statements/behavior toward women. However, this question is a diversion from the real issues of women's rights currently under threat by the Trump regime.

Sanders surrogates already did that and it backfired in a major way.

opinion that it would be tough to elect a woman, history shows him correct, sadly.

If he was saying Warren would have a tough time, that too could be correct.

I do not understand the furor this has created, and I am not a fan of Sanders.

I think Warren will have a tough time in the general election for a number of reasons. Kamala Harris or Klobuchar were my choice, but Klobuchar hasn't gained enough interest, and Harris has dropped out.

Suddenly, a screen shot of 1 Sanders volunteer (not campaign's) talking points gets leaked to the press (which by the way the Sanders Campaign removed, and told the volunteer they could not use or distribute), and then the Warren campaign leaks a story about how Bernie says a woman can't be elected. Its desperation and no one will convince me otherwise. It's dirty politics and it is not playing well for Warren. Sanders just made more campaign donations off this one.

At least going by the new Washington Post follow up. It sounds like it was more about what sort of people Trump attracts, and a woman increasing turnout for those scumbags. Not as egregious, but still sexist imo. It's not just a Sanders opinion either. There's too many Democratic voters who have drawn the wrong lessons from 2016.

Fact is still Clinton beat Trump by a decent margin in the popular vote. She lost because the election was compromised, and some poor strategy for a few states made it close enough for Trump and his Russian allies to steal. Had nothing to do with her being a woman.

They had a conversation about the upcoming elections. Sanders gives his opinion that a woman will struggle and most likely fail in our current political climate. Warren obviously disagrees.

So, no, Sanders didn’t say “A WOMAN CAN’T WIN” without any other context making him correct.

And yes, Warren correctly recounted a disagreement they had about the chances of a woman in the election.

Warren in her statement characterized it as punditry...and it’s not wrong to hold the opinion that women, historically, have had a harder time in Presidential elections than men.

This whole thing feels like manufactured outrage and it’s just dumb.
