2. The problem with the Minnesota primary is that we don't have party registration

When we go to vote in this we will have to request either the Democratic or Republican ballot & sign a statement that we "generally agree" with the party whose ballot we requested.

The Minnesota Republicans are only allowing Trump's name on the ballot. Reading the comments out at the Star Tribune's website, there are all sorts of Trumpers who are claiming they plan to vote for who they perceive to be the weakest Democratic candidate. There's also all sorts of people moaning & groaning on having to declare a party preference to get a ballot.

I do find some irony that members of the party that frets so much about voter fraud and who insisted it had a right to limit its ballot, have no problem interfering with another party's process. It's legal for them to vote this way, it's the ethics that are questionable - not that Trumpers have any.

But what is really a pain is that these records are public information now and so it is not the party with the names it is everyone.
Not the Vote just the Ballot choice.

At least, it tells you what the law is. "10 days before election day."

5. IT'S FRIDAY! How about the impact of early voting on results?

I didn't quickly turn up definitive analysis, but the percent of people voting early is on the rise every election. At least 39 states now allow it.

The summary of one limited study said it found early voting tends to increase turnout somewhat in general but with particular impact on independents, women, Democrats, and those with children and day jobs.

And with that, of course, are increased attempts to disenfranchise all those people and more...

I just checked our eligibility on line and the state site says we haven't been purged. Yet. We vote in Georgia.
