(2,275 posts)Over 50% of the electorate want a solidly progressive candidate. Add up Sanders, and Warren alone and you get 40% 10% more than Biden.

(2,275 posts)30% is not a majority. He's a familiar name. Unfortunately his thinking is hardwired to the 1980s.
Add up the polls for all the most progressive candidates and you get over 50% of the Dems. That's a lot higher than Biden's 30%

(58,785 posts)were up with Warren, I'd be a happy camper.
Even at double digits behind, Sanders is too close for my comfort. I don't worry about his ideology, per se. Congress legislates, not the president. And Sanders' NYT editorial board interview made it clear he imagines his presidency as an ongoing ideological battle of him against congress, even if Democrats hold either or both houses, virtually guaranteeing a failed, single-term presidency.
Bad enough, but what worries me is remembering that the powers who once again need Sanders to win our primary are the same ones who needed Trump to win the presidency. Keeping power in RW hands is has literally become an existential issue for many among the RW powers.

(7,405 posts)The new voting machines for LA county California, population 10 million, are electronic touch screen. The machines to be used for the March 3rd primaries have yet to be certified and have over 40 state voting violations. Lawsuits are being looked into. The real question is, how to have fair primary elections? Paper ballots need to created is the only answer, but will they?

*Dozens of critical user interface and security problems, according to recent published reports and conversations with experts.
*The Secretary of State found vulnerabilities that left the door open to bad actors changing voting data and, ultimately, the outcome of an election.
* Testers could also access and alter electronic records and get into physical ballot boxes all without detection.
Some candidates for local offices are so disturbed by how ballots appear on the machines that cities like Beverly Hills are exploring lawsuits.
