Recent democratic winners were less than 60 years old

History Note: The last five democratic presidents were less than 60 years old when they won:

John F. Kennedy 43
Lyndon Johnson 56
Jimmy Carter 52
Bill Clinton 46
Barack Obama 47

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

One error in all such statements is that you are dealing with a small sample size karynnj Jan 2020 #1

Al Gore was 52. Do you actually think that John Kerry, who at 60 looked younger than LBJ at 56 lost because he was a year older than George Bush? Do you think that HRC lost because she was 69 versus Trump who was 70?

Most aspects of presidential elections aren't, just because there have been too few of them to make them so.

Joe Biden

Even so, I still believe that someone under 60 has a better chance to win than someone over 70, other factors being equal.

Democrats for the Democratic Presidential Nomination are in their 70s, and the Republican nominee, Donald Trump, will be in his 70s, so apparently very few Democrats or Republicans share your viewpoint that a candidate in his or her 70s is a problem.

Those candidates in your example were all men, does that mean we should run a man because that's what won in the past?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
