Ken Olin: I said I'd vote for Sanders in the primary, but if his campaign continues to impugn Biden

I'll change my mind.

Paraphrasing Olin's tweet for the subject line, to make it almost fit.

Here's the tweet:

I declared earlier that I plan to vote for @BernieSanders in the California primary. If his campaign continues to impugn the reputation of @JoeBiden, I’ll change my mind. So it goes.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I think that question should be asked of Bernie and friends. I will never side with a campaign of Steiners and friends. I will not support a campaign that calls my Senator a liar. I will not support a campaign that calls Biden corrupt, then has to walk that back. I will not support any campaign that is 100 % negative.

We live in a horrible world with trump. We don't need that from those that call themselves Democrats. I am terrified for our future and that of our children, aren't you?

We handled that one as a state’s rights issue and did it ourselves. Doing it as Med Marihoochi was better. We kept it at mom and pop level and could get way stronger edibles and smoke. As rec it’s way too regulated and big business is about to swoop in. So you’re saying Bernie wants to have it be a corporate moneymaker is what I’m hearing.

However, if given a chance - I will pick a candidate who seems to embody more of the things I value more. Pettiness is not one of them.

Yes, he's very different in ideology. He actually has one, for one thing.

But is a goal in the opposite direction enough reason to give enormous power to yet another politician who believes his ends justify whatever means he needs to get power? Especially when one of the similarities is that both believe they know far more than the people and another is that neither cares that most people don't want what they do?

(Yes, yes, all who've read his stuff know Sanders believes we'll all be much happier, and better people too, working for collectives, yada yada.)

...He elevates himself by trashing his would be allies. For example, here he is with the New York Times engaging in false equivalency blaming the Democratic and Republican establishment for failing the American people. So, Nancy Pelosi should be blamed for failing the American people in the era of Trump? Seriously?

https://www.commondreams.org/news/2020/01/17/trumps-racist-demagoguery-only-works-says-sanders-because-too-many-americans-feel

"How did Trump become president?" Sanders said.
