Sanders leads, Biden gains in New Hampshire

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is leading the pack of Democratic presidential hopefuls in New Hampshire, but former Vice President Joe Biden is gaining on him, according to a Boston Globe/Suffolk University poll released Tuesday.

The survey shows Sanders in the No. 1 spot with 16 percent support among likely Democratic primary voters in New Hampshire, holding steady since the same poll was conducted in November. Biden, meanwhile, placed second with 15 percent support — a 3-point gain since the November survey, which put him in a close fourth place.

Former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg notched 12 points in the most recent New Hampshire poll, while Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) fell into fourth place with 10 percent support.

No other candidate registered in double digits. Former tech executive Andrew Yang finished in fifth, with 6 percent support, while Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) notched about 5 percent.

be divided between or among more than one candidate. The NH primary will have very little to do with who becomes the Democratic nominee. It puzzles me why it is given so much attention, really.

Its early primary on the calendar is the only reason anyone is watching that election. It will be forgotten almost instantly after it is over.

The race continues...

Average: Sanders +1

Looks like it's going down to the wire, barring any significant changes in the near future.

NH has 24 pledged delegates. Right now, 538 is projecting both biden and sanders will get 6 each. Out of 5400.

Iowas has a similar projection, with a delegate tie predicted.

So it's entirely possible there will be no delegate leader leaving NH. Even in 2016, there was only a 4 delegate difference between the two candidates.

The first two states mean squat (no offense to the kindly people of Iowa and NH, there just aren't very many of you).

Look to SC. Look to super tuesday when TX alone could get biden a 100 delegate advantage.
