"On day one as president, I will order the release of every document related to this impeachment"

Elizabeth Warren ✔ @ewarren

On day one as president, I will order the release of every document related to this impeachment inquiry that the administration has been hiding. The public needs to know what happened. All the other candidates for president should commit to take this step as well.

Hasn't that been the point with trump? The president shouldn't be ordering investigations of their political rivals. The president appoints an AG who decides that the facts warrant an investigation.

Joe should never order an investigation because he's been so involved peripherally in this impeachment investigation. It would look like something trump would do. Get the right AG and let them handle it.

If I hear one of these candidates say that they won't look back, they'll only look forward they are OUT in my book.

We are here today, with Trump, because of this. We are here today, with outrageous income inequality because of this. We are here, today, with voter suppression, lifetime, corporatist, GOP judges and GOP fraud because of this.

If we don't start holding people accountable things will never change. Yes, his cult base will rebel. Yes, there will be violence. We can have the limited violence and unrest now with just his cult base, or we can wait for the next full revolution. That will be far more bloody when it arrives. Those are, the only two options I see.

tells us that, yes, copies will be and already have been made and hidden away. The question of the "legality" of doing so is not a deterrent in any way to these guys, and the motivation for doing so does not have "patriotism" as its nexus.

You have to realize that there are millions upon millions of future dollars to be made in blackmail money and book deals off tRump and his minions, not to mention the money paid for document leaks. People in this admin know that if their future blackmail pursuits are unsuccessful, they still have the option to claim the mantle of "patriotic citizens" (and avoid indictments themselves) by turning over what they have.

Oh yeah, the eventual document (and audio and video) dumps are going to be epic.

If Trump has committed crimes (and who doesn't believe that he has), let justice play out.

But demagoguing the issue in a presidential campaign reinforces the image that we live in a Banana Republic and that's playing Trump's game.

We need to hold fast to liberal values and reject populist impulses.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

She pledging to "release of every document related to this impeachment inquiry that the administration has been hiding."

She's not talking about starting a new investigation - just releasing the materials related to the current inquiry.

Yet, we will continue to hear from supporters of someone "whose name shall not be mentioned except in the most sycophantic terms" who will go on...and on..and on...and on with the false narrative that the release of executive branch subpoenaed documents is somehow the same as launching new investigations and, egads!, the next thing you know, we're a banana republic!

Factual distinction is usually the first thing thrown under the bus by those who pursue sycophantic agendas.

..minute gap. El crook now in WH and his motley gang of ghouls have had plenty of time to destroy, manipulate and falsify any and all information and he will deny any culpability. When it was discovered that 18minutes of Nixon tapes were missing--his reaction was...

n a grand jury interview in 1975, Nixon said that he initially believed that only four minutes of the tape were missing. He said that when he later heard that 18 minutes were missing, "I practically blew my stack."

Meetings of the House committees were held in closed sessions for a reason: to protect national security.

Promising that she'd release ALL documents is either a false overstatement, or (worse) a policy that could cause harm to the United State's national interests and those of our allies.

This is not the way responsible leadership behaves.

Any promise to release documents should have been a qualified promise.

Because it would eliminate or at least greatly reduce the potency of the GOP talking point about how Democrats are hiding things, or that its Democrats that are withholding evidence FOR Trump, which I've also heard. Republicans love to project to weasel out of situations that way.

So if they present it smartly, (after winning the Presidency and House again of course) and also get some "moderate" Republicans if there are any left, to be bi-partisan co-sponsors, it would leap frog all that BS, confusing deplorables ,which isn't that hard to do. But many would be in favor of it....if only to PROOOOOOOOVE that Democrats were on a witch hunt just like Dear Leader said.

And Mitch (if he gets re-elected) and other R's scrambling to deflate the idea will not go over well. Well at least with a lot of Republican voters. There are those that don't care how much crime Trump or the GOP commit, as long as the R's win. They have been convinced that D's are even MORE corrupt. So corruption and criminal activity, even stealing elections, working with foreign dictators, is all fine....as long as they WIN.

But there are also those Trump voters from 2016 that are so brainwashed that they truly believe all the GOP whiners. That nobody says "Merry Christmas" anymore, immigrants are stealing good jobs and voting illegally, and gays are trying to make their kids into homosexuals. And they also believe that Democrats have this Deep State that, despite Republicans overseeing all 3 branches for most of the time in the last 10+ years, and the SCOTUS as well, they haven't been able to root them out. That somehow, this Deep State is like The Avengers superheros, or their antagonist super group. And are impossible to find and eliminate. And somehow, Democrats have been the ones that have denied justice, denied witnesses, and evidence.

He/she needs to seek answers to a few very important questions.

1. What are the details of everything Trump is suspected of?

2. What hold does Trump, Vlad, etc have over Republicans that made them so mindlessly co-operative?

3. How was the 2016 voting system contaminated?

4. Why did the electoral college vote not reflect the overall vote by US citizens?

5. How can future votes be protected against outside interference?

6. How can the Constitution be strengthened to protect the US against a take-over bid by a wanna-be dictator backed by outside powers?

7. How can the whole system be strengthened and made faster, so it DOESN'T take years and years to short circuit a wanna-be dictator?

8. Which appointments were made inappropriately/illegally and how can they be withdrawn?

Consider answering all those questions as a serious attempt to REALLY drain the swamp!
