Elizabeth Warren bet big on Iowa. Will her elaborate organization be enough?

Washington Post

MUSCATINE, Iowa — The voters, given a rare chance to speak privately to Elizabeth Warren, do not shy away from pointed questions: Can you really beat Donald Trump? Why do you want to kill the private insurance industry?

One voter, an important local official in Iowa, jokingly resurrected a personal grievance, reminding the senator how, as a well-known Harvard law professor, she declined to publish an article in the Iowa Law Review.

Before her town hall meetings, Warren (D-Mass.) virtually always holds a private discussion with five to 40 carefully selected voters, from those who are wavering to potential endorsers. At a moment in the presidential campaign when raucous rallies are the order of the day, the sessions provide unusually intimate access for Iowans who have emerged as the high-value targets of this final, desperate sprint to the caucuses — highly active but still undecided Democrats.

These “clutches,” as the campaign calls them, are just one part of Warren’s obsessively detailed organization in Iowa, one that reflects the candidate’s methodical personality and sets her apart from every other contender. As her polls take an ominous dip just days before the Feb. 3 caucuses, Warren’s big bet is that her unprecedented organizing machine will rescue her showing in Iowa, essentially saving her candidacy.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

>48% of Iowa caucus goers voted for Sanders in 2016 and he is attracting more first timers. The Sanders campaign is better financed and has higher enthusiasm. Polling is trending his way. I'll be surprised if she breaks 15%. Howard Dean was the best organized in 2004 and look how that turned out.

by end of Dec. Press didn’t pick up on the signs and were surprised at his poor finish.

I think the media used the bogus scream focus to cover for their own failures on the misreporting throughout January of what was actually going on in regard to the candidates’ ground game. I had heard in Dec that Kerry had the better ground organization.

Warren is willing to have discussions and answer any and all questions. People may not like her answers but she will bravely enter the arena and battle it out unlike others.

The problem Warren, Buttigieg and Biden have is they have been doing this for a year.
While they all have good visible organizations they lack depth.

Bernie has his last run and Klobuchar has been doing it for a decade.
That hidden pool of influencers cannot be discounted and will be telling.
