(383 posts)to progressive causes. I am not in the least offended. Nor should I ever get an apology. Its sad and true that I reap the benefits of white privilege even though I never asked for it. I shouldnt have been able to reap those benefits. That is the point. It should be an equal field.... a truly equal field. So I dont begrudge anyone calling out racism and inequality even though I try to fight for them. I have no historical legs to stand on. I have never walked in her shoes. I can only empathize. But my empathy isnt complete since I know nothing of what it is like to be truly be a minority. Imagination and explanation goes only so far.

he didn't have to promote the fact that he got that endorsement and he'd still have gotten a lot of the Rogan fans to vote for him. So yeah, their votes are votes, but where do we draw the line? What if David Duke endorsed him? Would Bernie celebrate then? Where's your line? I'm curious.
I'm still undecided, but I really wish they had a "Not Bernie" under the list on this site.
And yeah, I'll vote for anyone over Trump, including Bernie, but that's not saying much. I put a gif request post on my Facebook Wall asking for the most outlandish person someone would vote for over Trump. Mine was Charles Manson. I have to really delve into my mind to see if that's actually really true. I think it is. I think I'd vote for Jeffrey Dahmer over Trump so saying I'll vote for Bernie if he's the nominee really isn't an endorsement.

Are we living in a society where racism doesnt exist, and if someone makes an egregiously racist comment its supposed to be all in good fun, cause the dude is nice enough sometimes?
We cant seem to agree to break down racism to its core causes and manifestations during these kind of debates.. I mean I could try, but it would be a lengthy and ignored post.. but people will all join up and hold hands when a Black man is gunned down by the cops? Why then and not now?
Racisms existence needs to be called out. All the time. Every time Imani Gandy has been speaking out against it for a long time. She is an advocate for a woman's right to choose, she speaks her truth about being a Black woman in America She is an attorney.
Shes as intense an activist as you can get. Seriously.

Joe rogen may have said something you didn't like. It doesn't make him a racist. Sorry that's just not how it works. You can be mad at this endorsement but it doesn't make Sanders a racist by association. It feels like you need to keep devision going to justify your passion. Like hating a sports rival more than you like your own team. No other candidate needs to be a villain for you to love your guy not even Trump. No one votes just to oppose someone. They have to vote FOR something. I dont agree with Biden's policies. If he gets the nomination I like his policies more than Trump. I will vote for him. In the primary we all get to for for how we would like our party to become and represent. If Biden is how you see this party moving forward, cool. (81,642 posts)Comedian Ari Shaffir issues statement on his 'vile' Kobe Bryant comments, says 'it's just a joke'
Taryn Ryder
January 30, 2020, 12:46 AM UTC
Comedian Ari Shaffir isn't backing down after making "vile" jokes about Kobe Bryant's death and his professional career is taking a hit.
Yahoo Entertainment reached out to the New York Comedy Club for comment, but did not immediately receive a response. The club told the Hollywood Reporter they will not be working with Shaffir in the future after learning of his inappropriate tweet. Shaffir is also an actor and writer who hosts the podcast Skeptic Tank. He's a regular guest on The Joe Rogan Experience.
The day the Lakers legend died, Shaffir tweeted a selfie video, saying, "Kobe Bryant died 23 years too late today. He got away with rape because all the Hollywood liberals who attack comedy enjoy rooting for the Lakers more than they dislike rape. Big ups to the hero who forgot to gas up his chopper. I hate the Lakers. What a great day!"
Shaffir, who hosted Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening, doubled down in another video on social media, calling Bryant's shocking death a "good story" because "the guy got away with rape." He deleted the post, but not before people took notice. TMZ reports Shaffir was dropped by his talent agency.
On Tuesday, Shaffir published a lengthy statement on Instagram calling the routine "dark comedy" and that he was just making "a joke."
