Bloomberg's rise sets off alarms on the left

Progressive allies of Elizabeth Warren have approached the Democratic National Committee to lobby for an unusual cause: including billionaire Mike Bloomberg in upcoming presidential primary debates.

The entreaty speaks to progressives' growing unease with Bloomberg's relative success: After spending hundreds of millions of dollars, he has vaulted into double digits in national polls and amassed a giant staff of A-level operatives.

Bloomberg has focused his money and manpower on President Donald Trump, while rarely taking aim at fellow Democrats. At the same time, he has pledged to turn his record-shattering personal spending spigot on for whomever emerges as the Democratic nominee.

His rise is now stirring growing anxieties among some of his biggest detractors ... Bloomberg has risen steadily in national polls, surpassing Pete Buttigieg and nearly doubling Amy Klobuchar’s standing. On Monday, Bloomberg eclipsed Klobuchar in congressional endorsements, with many of the supporters arguing he’s uniquely positioned to beat Trump in the swing states Democrats need to recapture the White House.

Hell, if Bloomberg gets the nomination, I'd fully support and vote for him.. or any of the candidates I consider Democratic Party.

I live in New York State and remember that when Ghouliani was waning around being "America's Mayor", it was actually Bloomberg that brought the city back from 9/11 and revitalized Time Square.

telling them to vote for him. That's utterly disqualifying in itself. Lets throw in his endorsements of Pat Toomey, Susan Collins, and Scott Brown and many others who have given Moscow Mitch his majority. There is literally nothing Democratic about Mike Bloomberg or anything he represents.

Let's see.. a candidate who 16 years ago stood up for Bush in a move that made no actual influence in poll numbers vs the one that, through his campaign and the actions of his surrogates, and the direct actions of many of his current senior staff actually HELPED put Trump in office (even if he didn't actually "endorse" drumph).

Yes, I'd be willing to get behind a Bloomberg candidacy if he's the one best geared to removing Trump and takes the lead.

You Prefer Mayor "Stop and Frisk" to BS …. Bloomberg supported Bush-_Cheney over John Kerry in 2004 … He opposed Obama's outstanding Iran Nuclear Deal but now he's flipped flopped on that …….Bloomberg believes the Government of China are not dictators- getting a raw deal from the Press …….He fought for Republican Control of the NY State Senate …… Bloomberg : "I've never supported raising the Minimum Wage " … Mike wants to control what we eat and drink ……….I'll take BS over this guy's record of BS ...

No argument at all about his negatives, and I do absolutely concede those are some pretty significant negatives, that I will not attempt to justify, but the answer is still yes, I would absolutely take him and support him long before I'd even give BS a hint of consideration now. I will support anyone who is on the opposite side of BS on any ballot I cast.

Biden is a couple of points higher now than he was when Bloomberg entered the race. His numbers have been stable since at least September.
