Still doesn't explain why someone picked Delaney as opposed to other candidates.

And it's more than slightly presumptuous to demand they defend their choice.

4. Where did I DEMAND anything?

I asked a question about why a candidate was being supported. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that sort of thing goes on all the time at a political blog.

And since the person in question isn't YOU, what say we let that person decide how they want to respond?

If it was merely a request it was rudely done.

6. I haven't selected John Delaney, but your question made me curious.

Here's what I've learned, so far:
Delaney is a former U.S. Representative from Maryland who was the first Democrat to declare his candidacy for President. Since then he has visited all of Iowa's 99 counties and has hired staffers for his campaign office there.

9 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT JOHN DELANEY
...Delaney, who fashions himself as a “progressive businessman,” outlined the arguments for why you should pick him to be president: He’s not interested in partisan politics, he believes in the free market as much as he does helping the less fortunate, and he is the one who can guide the country through more technological advances that benefit the economy....

Since announcing his run for president in July 2017, Delaney has raked in more than $1 million, through late October, according to Federal Election Commission records.

Delaney ranked sixth among the richest members in both chambers of Congress, according to his federal personal financial disclosure for 2016. (Update, Feb. 5, 2019: Delaney’s presidential candidate personal financial disclosure, signed on Jan. 31, indicates Delaney retains tens of millions of dollars in assets across dozens of investments.)

Delaney raised $4.43 million during his first run for the U.S. House in 2012. That proved to be his highest total in any of his campaigns for the U.S. House....

I always found him thoughtful with progressive ideas. He's been knocking on doors for almost 2 years....he's got an organization and he's raised some money.

He could be the surprise out of Iowa and New Hampshire.

8. John Delaney's 2020 agenda: A policy guide to the Maryland Democrat running for president.
Sun Feb 24, 2019, 05:41 PM
Feb 2019
Former congressman John Delaney (D-Md.) is running for president, pledging to enact a new national service for all young Americans, a “national strategy” to prepare for the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market and a carbon tax among other measures to fight climate change.

He is also vowing large but unspecified cuts to the federal debt, a new national health program for everyone younger than 65, and reentering the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal proposed by President Barack Obama but later abandoned by President Trump and congressional Democrats....

“This is a guy that likes to deal in the concrete world of problem solving,” said Will Marshall, founder of the Progressive Policy Institute, a center-left think tank, who frequently criticizes the party from the right.

But left-leaning critics charged that Delaney, a former businessman, was not proposing policies big enough to stem the flattening of workers’ wages and spiraling income inequality, two key goals of the Democratic Party....
