(16,616 posts)I'm actually supporting Warren but expected Biden would take the lead on Super Tuesday. Our primary here in AZ is after ST, thus my "Undecided" status.
But recent events have me more concerned about Joe's situation.

(65,186 posts)Biden/Klobuchar - it is ok but too moderate for me personally
Sanders/Klobuchar - well, Bernie should choose a younger woman if not Warren
Biden/Yang - might help Biden with the youth vote
Biden/Bloomberg - Biden should choose a woman and not someone so conservative. Bloomberg is more conservative than Biden is
Biden/Steyer - not sure this is a good mix
Sanders/Warren - my personal preference! Or Warren/Sanders
Steyer/Sanders - I like Steyer and Sanders, so not bad
Bloomberg/Sanders - huge clash, would not happen
Warren/Bloomberg - again a huge clash that would not happen

(65,186 posts)Klobuchar is asked to defend Sanders on health care and other things. But if the polling says a balanced ticket would do better, she is an option.

(15,374 posts)I believe that Warren/Klobuchar is the best ticket.
Possibly even a Warren/Yang ticket.
Warren will not run as Veep on anyone's ticket.
If we're considering people not still in the primaries, I would love to see
Warren/Harris or
Warren/Booker or
Warren/Abrams
Warren/another great candidate (there are MANY possibilities)
I would favor Warren/Abrams or Warren/another great candidate over a ticket with two current Senators, however. We NEED good Senators.
But Warren IS and WILL REMAIN #1 for me.
Period. No matter how many of these polls get posted.

(43,741 posts)I think he might snap and go into a full racist thug rant on national telly.
The way to treat these fuckers is with ridicule and disdain. Bloomberg would look him in the eye and call him out as a fake billionaire, a fraud, and a grifter. A petty little embezzler who has to skim off the country's till like a two-bit gangster in one of his shitty. failed, bankrupt casinos.

Men who chase women are often intensely interested in How to Attract Hot Chicks. One tip, which some women themselves give, is to keep em guessing, to stay mysterious, then to be funny, then a little too cocky, and then nice, but not too nice. Most important, dont let her pin you down, feel like shes got your type (hes a player, nerdy guy, all he does is work), since once shes got you figured, she may decide shes not interested in finding out a little more about you (e.g., on a date or in a further text).
The pickup artist risks looking too practiced. Then theres no special compliment to a woman in the fact that hes approached her. And maybe hes too easily categorized: he only wants quick sex, which hes used to getting, when shed prefer a three-date courtship. If hes too smooth, way too good at this, shell have discerned his type and may lose interest. Theres thus a certain advantage to being scrappy, being unpolished and not too practiced, as long as one is also funny and not too unkempt or completely broke. The scrappy guy, like the underdog, arouses our compassion and seems innocent or even likable, although often oblivious.
The pickup artist hustles for fun or sex, of course, but also for the way he feels about himself if a woman shows interest. His worth is affirmed in the eyes of the woman (perhaps whether or not he respects her beyond the adoration she gives him). Knowing how other men and women might think of him if they knew thisif they were seen together in public, for instancehis sense of self- worth is boosted or swollen.
Like any politician, Donald Trumps quarry is the electorate, and he at least wants pretty much what Men Who Chase Hot Chicks want: to affirm his worth by being seen as powerful, the center of attention, as the man whose favor must be curried, so as to uphold his vision of himself as great, a winner, a huge success. Hes lucky not to have the smooth tactics of the pickup artist, since in an electorate used to The Rubio (slick, bogus, likable, but without substance), voters will take to a scrappy effort and forgive the rest, if they can find sufficient reason to keep up their interest. And Trump does effortlessly keep up peoples interest, by keeping em guessing, shocked, self-doubting, and amused.
It is tough being an asshole in ordinary life. Success in the eld takes considerable skill and social intelligence. The effective asshole often learns to work the gray areas of cooperation. If people feel disrespected and pipe up about it, perhaps they cant quite pin down their objection, and with the asshole resistant to any open conversation about why his conduct was, or was not, acceptable, he fends off the challenge, proving to himself, yet again, that he has no compelling reason to listen. This is difficult to do reliably without being completely isolated. So the successful asshole often has further methods. Hell 1) keep em guessing and uncertain about his type; and 2) offer some redeeming quality, by being funny, or smart, or beautiful, or wealthy. The mistreated person then isnt resolutely revolted and perhaps becomes willing to forgive, or at least quickly forget.
There is no real Trump beneath the appearances in part because he keeps us guessing in just this fashion, alternating freely between ways of presenting himself, sometimes very quickly, even in midsentence. This leaves us without a firm sense of his person and so unable to resolve our reaction to him. Unsettled and uncertain, we are destabilized; and he is better able to do pretty much as he likes.

(25,183 posts)that the VP pick will be an also-ran? It's only happened a few times in my lifetime (I'm 64), and only one of those times it worked out (Reagan-Bush). It didn't go so well for Kerry-Edwards.
The ticket will need to be balanced both by gender and by race, if we have a white male as the nominee, he'll need to pick Stacy Abrams or someone with similar stature. If by some miracle Elizabeth Warren is the nominee, she will probably pick Castro for the racial/gender balance.
