All of Cannon's efforts will turn to dust. She will have thrown any career advancement away. So consider it done. It's only a matter of time when Cannon herself will come to understand this.

(or more to the point, her gifted habits) it seems that they're following the money and will eventually make a case for a conflict of interest. If it gets bad enough, hopefully she'll get disbarred.
