A Texas woman turned in by her hospital who breached medical privacy, and then wrongly jailed and prosecuted for exercising her right to a medication abortion, has just sued the District Attorney who wrongfully prosecuted her for at least $1 million dollars for pain and suffering and lifelong injuries. stripped from women. Until we regain our human rights, I hope every woman who's been hurt... which is a hell of a lot of women... find the strength and courage to do just what this woman is doing.

One thing I do find mildly interesting is that if they do institute that 1800's Comstock law... well, goodbye to cheap viagra. You won't be able to get it through the mail, either. It's all tied up with that yukky sex stuff, you know. No doubt the repugs will try to carve out an exemption because of -course- we can't have men suffering through the same pain and humiliation they put women through. But if they do try to carve out an exemption... oh, Annie get your gun!... the uproar will make the million woman march look like an easter sunday parade in a small town. And, although I'm long past child-bearing years, I have a dog in this fight due to grandchildren and nieces. I'll be damned if I fought for our rights all those decades ago, just to see my female descendents have to go through the same damn thing. I'll be marching, carrying a sign, and screaming at the top of my lungs -- leaning on my cane the whole time!

in your thinking, OAIT! A better man I've never met. He's supported me in everything I've ever wanted to try while in my career days, tho it far surpassed anything he was attempting to do. We need men like you and my hubby! And we (at least I) welcome ya'll with open arms.

It's been that way for centuries. It's the real reason for the witch trials and burnings... that and they want whatever land, etc., the woman has. And it's still that way today. Gods, I remember when I couldn't even get a credit card in my name! I never want my little niece to have to live through the humiliation we lived through back then. Somedays, I feel too old to do this all over again; other days (most of them) I say I can wield a mean little cane! (gryn)
