but where I vote, the only person who touches my ballot besides me is the election judge who hands me the blank ballot. Once I've filled it out, I walk it over to the tally machine & feed it in myself.

I'm guessing most areas do things this way. I'm also guessing Lara has never been in a polling place on election day and has no clue how things are done.
