(8,200 posts)My wife was in good health until she came down with a severe case of sepsis. My son wanted us to relocate to Florida so they could help and especially be close to her. Unfortunately, my dear wife of 58 years died this last February. I really miss Colorado and being able to see some of the old gang from the University of Colorado. But, you just can't go home again as I learned from a visit I made before this pandemic. Things are just not the same. So I will stay here with my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids.
Living here made me realize just how progressive Colorado is compared to this place. The Denver metropolitan area has a significant minority. There has been very little problems that plague many cities. In the neighborhood in which I lived for over forty years we had a high mix of all minorities. In my block for instance my next door neighbor was Hispanic, two doors down was a family from Vietnam and several Black families in subdivision. The kids got alone great which they will do if not brainwashed by hateful racist parents. I despise the polarization that the Republicans have created with their barrage of 24/7 propaganda spewed by hateful racists who have divided the nation. I would recommend Colorado as a possible place to fine some peace for those who are looking for a measure of sanity.
