If it were not for massive investments in extreme right-wing policy through election contributions, control of public and social media, and funding of right-wing think tanks by corporations and the ultra-wealthy, America's GOP would be just in the margins of history. We would be living in a far more equal and just world.

They fuel the divisiveness of racism and poverty, the distrust of higher education and science, the distrust of government and the soundness of elections and the corruption of our public and social media.

And, they do it with our dollars that truckle up to them via our everyday purchases of goods and services. I feel that knife in my back each day as I read the latest news from around the world.

We've been building this one-way road to hell for many decades as consumerism, selfishness, divisiveness and a sense of individual independence has come to prevail in the public spirit, both in the USA and most other industrialized nations. It's difficult to envision a way to reverse the flood.

Just the opinion of an old, tired and retired country boy.......
