(8,211 posts)31. Technically I have a car but it needs repairs and I've done fine not driving for months.
I am lucky enough to live a short walk from work. Even shorter on days when I'm working remotely.
Seriously, though, about twenty years ago I decided to cut back on my driving as much as possible for environmental reasons. Sometimes that entailed changing jobs in order to be able to walk to work. Some of those jobs have been good: I have a rewarding job in the nonprofit sector now. Other times I've been a barista and a cashier at a co-op.

My car is more than 10 years old and uses gas. It's got less than 40,000 miles on it, though.

I looked at the Leaf. It came up highly rated and most affordable. Can't afford the payment though

Purchased a used 2016 Tesla 3 in Jan 2020. Outstanding car. No oil changes, no gas. Very little

I have a Subaru Crosstrek which gets about 30 mpg. I got in 2017 and have only driven 1800
