But the media seems obsessed with this idea of a former president being indicted, and the ridiculous idea that while he was a sitting president, he was immune to prosecution for his crimes. That makes it sound like he ran for President to avoid prison.

I hope he doesn't avoid prison, but I do think this indictment will strengthen the resolve of the other prosecutors, and it may provide evidence to strengthen their cases as well.
