to editorial cartoons (yes, an essential part of the peoples' voice) is the concentrated ownership of media in the hands of a few vulture capitalists.
Once-great newspapers have been reduced to rags, or have disappeared completely, while the resources and revenues of these papers were looted. Journalists and cartoonists get laid off and replaced with sports news, fluff, and ads.

Also, let's not forget: print does not have tracking pixels or spyware. Paper is private!
