Who the hell would stay at their job if they weren't getting raises over a 3 or 4 year period? I literally can't think of anyone I know who hasn't gotten a raise of some kind. And the people close to me have seen raises above the average 24% increase that people have seen since 2019. If no one is getting raises, then how come these restaurants spent so long crying that they can't find people to work for $12 an hour anymore?
You know, I know people are struggling, I get that, but I think there's psychology at play too and the media has been all in on the economy being bad for so long I think a lot of people ignore their own circumstances improving.
