to find out the extent of the mortgage/liens on all his "precious" properties. If he has to liquidate (and why previous bankruptcies didn't expose this is beyond me), it will show he is in debt. And that is why he's afraid in NY - once liens are placed on his "precious" properties, the curtain will be pulled back.
