Objectively it leaves a lot to be desired. I'm not impressed with Jake Sullivan at all. I guess they think rising oil prices will tank the economy and lose the election but there are times when you have to do the right thing regardless of consequences. If it costs you a second term so be it. It's better than spending your second term dealing with a resurgent Russia with its sights set on the rest of Europe.
