Your life is better than Dripping Diaper Don's ever was. [View all]

Have you ever experienced love? Have you ever seen a tree and marveled at the beauty of it? Have you ever held a puppy or kitten and felt that joy? Have you ever just sat or walked with someone and enjoyed the time together?

The list goes on forever. Now imagine growing up and getting old and never having had any of these things and the fault is entirely your own. Even if you are impoverished, in horrid pain, alone and dying, the odds are very high that you have had more joy in the average week than Diaper Don has had in his life.

My blessings are too numerous to count, but I can imagine things a bit better.

Imagine if wealth was a bit more evenly distributed and we didn't send troops to defend or obtain wealth for people who avoid paying taxes. If we had the pensions, medicine and social services that other developed nations have, imagine how much larger your blessings would be.

But even without that, my life is and has been better than most of the wealthy and powerful Republicans. Compassion and understanding are part of being able to feel joy. Sympathy is needed to have strong relations with others. I am glad to be woke. The opposite is to dwell in a world of hatred and fear.
