(14,614 posts)I mean, look at what is happening -
Democrats are flush with money, and are beginning to campaign aggressively on abortion and democracy.
Trump in the meantime is caged, forced to sit in a courtroom eight hours a day as the defendant in a criminal case. He is losing support, and now in a new act of desperation, he is asking Republican candidates for a 5% cut, when his daughter-in-law is using the RNC to funnel money for the quarter million a month Trump is spending on legal fees which effectively is starving downticket Republicans for campaign money.
Then we have the clown show in the House, and people are starting to get pissed about their inability to do anything but obstruct and impeach on sham charges - did you see how deftly Schumer quashed any lengthy impeachment trial?
And of course we see that Arizona has legislated women back to 1864, and women everywhere are galvanized about this and other anti-abortion horror stories that are coming up. I just went to the eye doctor and she is furious about the whole abortion thing and dislikes Trump pretty intensely. My wife and daughters are up in arms and so am I.
We should carry every state where abortion is on the ballot.
Perhaps if we read the cards, they would suggest Biden will win, we will get a stronger majority in the Senate, and even in states where efforts are afoot to suppress the vote, we should see a new majority in the House.
Lastly, my wife was quite troubled by the questions the Supreme Court asked in the obstruction appeal for a January 6 insurrectionist. Of course Thomas and Alito are trying to lay the groundwork for Trump to weasel out of the federal case on insurrection, but he is still forced to sit quietly in a chair in criminal court eight hours a day, and he just disobeyed his gag order tonight on social media.
I'm thinking the Republicans are going the way of the dinosaurs. Sure, Russia is working hard to cause chaos here through their GOP tools including Trump but that is starting to be noticed by independent voters. People are starting to pay attention.
I guess what I'm saying, on the off chance you have read this far, is cheer up. Nothing has happened yet, and the pendulum is swinging our way in more ways that I have written here. We have cause for some cautious optimism because this stuff is slowing being brought to light.
