There's a good chance that either the above poster or someone else will want me to justify what I said, so despite my aversion to feeding controversy, here it is. I doubt any minds will be changed, though.

What? By definition, a war crime is committed... during war (or a "wartime footing", I suppose). Saying that war crimes aren't crimes during a war because there is a war is circular reasoning of Trumpian proportions. Nor is "the other side did something bad first" a valid defense.
