(15,077 posts)9. Okay, I didn't know that. Which seems to indicate we could change
the number of Justices now since we control the Senate and the presidency. (Although doing it in an election year isn't great timing.)

No the house would have to pass the bill first then send it to the senate

There are 13 US appellate courts, there should be 13 SCOTUS justices to match that number. Will it happen? Doubtful.

Bottom line is you need two-thirds of the Senate and House to change the Constitutional requirements for SC Justices
