Here's why I am not worried - or going to worry. (re the NK potential shit storm). [View all]

We - we here on DU, our family and friends, the population of the world, essentially - will be victims of whatever insanity does or does not happen. My worrying - our worrying - won't change a thing. There is, I suppose, some amount of trust needed - trust that someone, somewhere, understands what is going on, values life, and will step in. But that is certainly out of our control.

This territory is so uncharted that it is unfathomable - so there is life to be lived, walks to be taken, gardens to be weeded. I am not burying my head in the sand (though since we've not watched TV for 8 years and haven't gotten a newspaper in 6), I get my news here, and a few other places. Not being constantly bombarded with it helps, I suppose.

Anyway - we seem to be in for quite an adventure, for better or worse.

I just made a pizza using a no-knead recipe - it came out good. Some nice music is playing. My wife is quilting - the cat is next to me, two dogs at my feet. Feeling pretty peaceful (maybe it is the glass of Stone Imperial Stout that is helping).

Since I can't even believe that the asshole ended up as president, I am not sure I believe the constant, six month shit storm of ridiculousness and blatant criminal acts is real.

But - as I said, life goes on (or hopefully will).

Be well, all - time to talk the dogs!
