(5,485 posts)Cut the turkey in half, and one half of it got rubbed with some Penzey's Northwoods seasoning, and the other half I rubbed with a garlic/hickory/bacon blend, and I also bacon-wrapped that half. Had some extra room in the smoker so I tossed in some hot and some sweet Italian sausage. My wife used the drippings for her sweet rice & giblets dressing. Getting ready to pack it all up and head to a friend's house for our annual feast.
The friend is doing a ham, sausage & peppers, and a huge amount of cheeses and various sausages, salami, and other assorted goodies. My wife is making a sweet potato Mousseline, and most of the others that come to this dinner usually bring additional goodies.
What am I having for Thanksgiving? Probably indigestion!
