I honestly don't believe that he "missed" the tackle. Just think about it for a second and look at the replay again. He actually did the only thing he could do. Here's the way I saw it...

Number 23 came over to cover Diggs. He arrived too early (or the ball was thrown with a little more air under it making it arrive later than he, #23, expected) realizing this and knowing it would result in pass interference, he dove under Diggs to avoid contact. A pass interference call would have resulted in an easy field goal and a Vikings win. All number 23 could hope for was that Diggs would drop the ball... Which he didn't. The unfortunate part was that he took out his teammate who might have stopped Diggs from going into the end zone. As far as I'm concerned, #23 did the right thing... He did all he could do. It was a heads up play.

In fact, when they went back to the studio, one of the former coaches (Dallas) stated almost the very same thing saying that this poor guy is going to catch a lot of crap when he did the right thing.
