Is the Senate required to take up the impeachment resolution for action? I don't know.
The House brings charges then the Senate sits as a court, hears the charges, debates, then votes guilty/not guilty. I wonder if the Senate is even required to bring the action to the floor. Or maybe the Senate can take a page from the Trump playbook . . . delay, delay, delay, then discover that "Oh my goodness!! It's January 2025 and everything we have not considered by now is dead."
