"Nice guys finish last".
They seem to take pride in cheating the system, scoring a deal, or pulling one over on someone. Only suckers play by the rules or pay all the taxes they owe. If the cashier gives them too much back in change, they'll just put it in their pocket without saying a word. Cheating is okay as long as they don't get caught, but if they get cheated, you'll hear them ranting for miles (like if the cashier didn't give them enough money back).
They take credit for everything good in their life and blame someone else when things don't go their way.
