(6,944 posts)133. Spent the last few days discussing Hospice for a family member.
Her goal was to get to 75 which she did in February.
She lives in a facility, she has some dementia.
She is angry about not being able to care for herself...and now to even get out of bed.
She is my beloved sister-in-law, her brother and I were just trying to help her adult children get their minds around it.
As a retired RN, I have great respect for the people who work in Hospice. I also think it is the best decision when necessary. There is honesty, there is no denial, there is hopefully comfort and peace.
As you see there are many here very grateful for having known you in this group.
Rest easy.
