Yes, here is one thing you haven't thought of as going down....The cost of a long distance phone call....

.................When I was young (by today's standards) cost from coast to coast...New York to Los Angleses was ..$10..a minute..
.....................Now, depending on what plan you have ...now ...30 cents a minute...The ten dollar a minute takes in the cost
of inflation........was maybe $2.00 a minute in the 50s..by today's money.....(you could buy a car for $2000....back in those days.
............................ My first car was a 71.. new stick shift Pontiac that cost about $2000.........................................
